Nude #713- original watercolor nude by Gretchen Kelly

15" x 20' watercolor, gouache+ graphite on paper
From a 25 minute pose. I could have tightened up some of the edges and colors but there is something that I like about the untamed freedom of this painting and decided to leave it in all of it's first stage rendering to reveal the first impressions from my brush.

I like the latest trend in your nude paintings. The use of the ponytail. This one is great in the sense the Horse [ponytail] is/was the backbone of society [but so is the woman]. So conceptually this painting may be one of your most valuable.

I like your insight. Although I did not consciously make that statement, I could claim that the subtlety of that symbolism is what I aspire to daily.

I like this one particularly. Something about chairs in paintings is always inviting to me. I think the loose carefree look of your watercolors is very appealing.
