Behind the shoji screen (Nude #586)- original watercolor by Gretchen Kelly

14" x 20" watercolor, gouache, graphite on paper
I put the Japanese shoji screen up to disguise an anatomy malfunction in my original painting. I couldn't let this go to waste, the robe was too good to lose.

Nude #582 - original watercolor nude by Gretchen Kelly

13" x 19" watercolor, + graphite + gouache on paper
This painting was done today at my local Hudson Opera House. It was a good session and that always makes me feel great. I have more paintings that I will be doing some additional work in the backgrounds and posting through the week.

Nude #574- original watercolor nude by Gretchen Kelly

watercolor, gouache + graphite on paper
I did this painting in 5 minutes after completing the first one of the same pose in 20 minutes during the 25 minute pose. What that means is that there is another painting of this same exact pose -and even better than this one. I am holding it to see how I am going to add into the background.....this one is good the way it is. This morning at the Opera House, I produced 15 paintings that I am very pleased with. My fave model posed, Kathe. I am always so inspired when I work with her.
