Shanghai - 6"x9" - watercolor on paper

Today was filled with a visit to a glass factory just on the outskirts of this city. I have been eating locally grown and raised foods and meats and fish; a small place for lunch and a larger restaurant in the city. This city is bursting at the seams with progress and remnants of a past life that will disappear in the smog. Cars collide with bicycles and everyone on cell phones traveling at high speeds, talking at high volume, rushing to the next appointment, to meet that deadline to be this center of the worlds manufacturing needs. How I got here is what I ask myself and the answers I get back are not the expected ones.
