Icey Grass on Deer Isle- 12"x12" gelatin monoprint

This is part of my series from a workshop I took at Haystack on Deer Isle in Maine, this past fall. The icey looking grass effect in the foreground was achieved by using grass as a mask on top of the gelatin plate. There are so many effects that can be achieved doing this printing technique.

At first I didn't recognize the the icy grass painting as one of yours because I expected to see a figure. Although I dont' like techniques for their own sake, I am intriqued by the use ofreal grass as a mask. The line quality is great and grass is challenging to paint.
