Hudson river hillside- 6"x6" - oil on canvas

This is a quick study and the same view as in yesterday's post. I enjoy painting the same scene more than once because each time the painting evolves from memory of the previous painting, or from something new that I see, from what did + did not work previously and simply to see the how my memory muscles record. It is also fun to change size of canvas, brushes, and generally the painting comes easier because much has been worked out in the previous one.

Fantastic Gretchen! I wish I could paint this loosely. Terrific color and brushwork.
