Pink sky reflection- 12"x12" gelatin monoprint on rice paper

$100

The subtle tones of colors and textures are what come out so beautifully in this printing technique. As I was going along printing one after another the delicate gelatin starts to break down and tear, leaving scars. I like the primitive effect of the those traces of printing history as I go along.

Again a nice delicate one.
Do you make them from imagination, or is it field work? You haven't got much control over it, I reckon but I like the result a lot. Nice glow, lovely colors much depth, ... great work!

Rene,
Yes & No - these recent landscapes with the gelatin monoprint process are partially from sketches I did and partitally from my imagination when on site in Maine. I should put some of the original sketches on my blog to show the reference from which these landscapes came and how they evolved... that will be upcoming.
