The moon I saw last night- 14"x17' gouache on paper

This is from my memory of what was so beautiful last night. I was walking late in the farm lands in the Hudson Valley. The sky is bigger there and I was taken away by the beauty of the clouds that were illuminated by the moon. I was reminded of the Rousseau print that hung on my parents bedroom wall when I was a child. I would stare at it and was carried away with the scene of A Carnival Evening, wondering what was going on in the woods under that moon....

What a wonderful burst of moon and clouds and fury from way above far far away. Very dreamlike and voluminous. I like what the moon does always - sort of stirs us up and sets in motion revery like this. Very GOOD! Nina
