Nude #207 - 14"x20" watercolor & graphite on paper

SOLD to a collector in Ann Arbor, Mi.
This nude is in deep thought. Her back to you - she doesn't want you to know what she is thinking nor does she want you to see the expression on her face.

LEAP OF FAITH 8"x11" watercolor & gold leaf on paper

When I woke up this morning I had a vivid image in my mind from the last dream that I had this morning. It was of these golden feet leaving the ground. I knew I would paint this for my blog today. It wasn't until I was painting it that I realized what the symbolism is - LEAP OF FAITH - so pertinent for me and many of my friends right now in our lives. We are always on our journeys. We should always be mindful of the LEAPS OF FAITH that we have to take in life to keep us going forward and to keep us in our creative processes.

Nude #205 - 6"x9" watercolor, goauche, pastel, graphite, silver leaf on board

This nude stands starkly leaning against a plaster wall that enhances the porcelain quality of her skin tone. She is fragile and vulnerable looking. But not afraid to pose or stand in front of you.

Nude #204 - 11"x14" - watercolor, pastel, graphite on 400 lb cold press board

This nude brings to mind a Gauguin Tahitian nude.

Nude #203 - 12"x17" charcoal & gold leaf on paper

This nude is from a one minute pose. It looks like a Matisse - something that I like. It is the freedom of her pose and the sweetness of her face that balance the haphazard lines of the drawing. The casualness of this Art is what appeals to me. It is simply a charcoal sketch on newsprint and some gold leaf to add a little glamour.

Nude #199 - 22"x30" watercolor, gouache, graphite on Arches paper

Staring at what? Spacing or in thought? Maybe just in the space of now. No expectations, no worries. Gentle and at peace.

Nude #198 - 14"x20" watercolor & graphite on paper

Snoozin' nude - she doesn't even know that her chaise is askew.

Nude #197 - 18"x24" watercolor, gouache, pastel, graphite, gold leaf on card board

The mixed media in this is what is most appealing on this throw-away card board. I like the rough contrast between that and the luxurious gold leaf. She looks as though she were baskinig in the glow of a sunrise suggested behind her.

Nude #191 - 18"x24" charcoal on paper

This is a one minute pose from a series of 15 that are done at the beginning of figure drawing session.

Nude #190 - 8.5"x11" - crayon, dye, gouache on paper

I did the background of this painting like it was a batik using wax crayon and dye. It was just a little experiment in technique.
